Kate has 20 years experience in representing the NSW Police Force (NSWPF) and other agencies in relation to personal injury claims, intentional tort claims, coronial inquiries and public inquiries.
She regularly appears on behalf of the NSW Commissioner of Police in the Coroners Court, the District Court and the Supreme Court, along with participating in mediations and informal settlement conferences.
Kate has also represented the Commissioner in the (former) Police Integrity Commission and appeared at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
Kate has an excellent understanding of the intricacies and sensitivities involved in representing an organisation such as the NSWPF and clients appreciate her in depth knowledge of the policies and practicalities associated with government clients. Kate also has a background of personal injury work defending large employers and insurers against personal injury claims, along with defending hurt on duty claims and Post Traumatic Stress claims brought by former police officers.
